The AVOCADO Foundation Joins City Bridge Foundation as Equity Partner

The AVOCADO Foundation is delighted to announce that our CEO, AmickyCarol Akiwumi MBE, has been appointed as an Equity Partner with the City Bridge Foundation (CBF). Following a competitive and rigorous selection process, Carol joins a distinguished group of equity partners who will play a key role in supporting CBF through an exciting period of strategic transformation.

This appointment coincides with the launch of City Bridge Foundation’s bold new 10-year funding strategy, Standing with Londoners—a long-term commitment to tackling systemic inequality and driving lasting, positive change across the capital.

As an Equity Partner, Carol will work in close collaboration with CBF to provide insight, strategic guidance, and critical feedback throughout the rollout of this new direction. Her contribution will help ensure the foundation’s programmes are inclusive, equitable, and responsive to the needs of the communities they serve.

“This is an exciting milestone for The AVOCADO Foundation,” said Carol Akiwumi. “I’m honoured to join City Bridge Foundation in this capacity and look forward to helping shape a future where all Londoners—regardless of background—can thrive.”

Carol’s appointment reflects The AVOCADO Foundation’s unwavering commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, tackling economic inequality, and strengthening support systems for grassroots and social impact organisations across the UK.

We are proud to stand alongside City Bridge Foundation and fellow Equity Partners to help build a fairer, more inclusive London for generations to come.
